The experts are telling everyone they can to automate your home, but what exactly does that mean? Well, the easiest way to explain this is that with a few upgrades, you can run your house without even being there. Why would anyone want to do that though?
We have a few reasons to step into the future of technology right now, and once you read them, you’ll be ready to join us!
One of the best benefits of automation is the ability to control your lights. Why is this a huge benefit when you can do that with a light switch? It’s a great way to keep burglars at bay when you aren’t home.
Whether you’re staying late at work and no one is home, or you’re on a family vacation, having the ability to turn the lights on as if someone is there is an effective deterrent to anyone scoping out your home.
You can turn on the lights and the TV as if someone is inside your house, and even schedule all of this to happen daily so that you don’t need to remember to get your tablet and do this each night. What better way to ruin a vacation than having to go home early to turn the lights on from your tablet every night? Set it up automatically and forget about it!
This can also be done for your ease as well. If you know you’ll be home daily at a certain time from work; you can have the lights come on and even have music playing to greet you before walk in the door!
Having kids means lights left on, pool heaters on in summer, and all types of other power wasting examples because they don’t always pay the best attention to simple instructions. You can always check all of these while you’re at work from your tablet and turn them off. This goes for wastefully using the air conditioner on an empty house too.
Another great advantage is for when you are traveling. My parents used to leave a hallway light on every night while they were out of town. Not only is that a dead giveaway when it’s on all day and all night, but it’s also a huge waste of energy.
Using your mobile devices, you can be the most energy efficient house on the block!
Using lighting to keep your home safe while you aren’t there is just one way that you can keep criminals away from your house. You can also add an extra layer of security when you automate your house by adding a video system to monitor your home.
Many security companies are now offering the ability to add this and also be able to view your cameras while not at home.
There is another great reason to do this though. To be awesome!
When your kids get home, you can unlock the door for them. When your spouse gets home from work, you can play music to greet them. Everyone will think you’re the coolest person ever!
One feature that we really like is installing blinds that can be controlled remotely. Not only is this a fun feature, but it’s also practical. When you aren’t home, you can open the blinds to give your plants some sun and your animals something to look at.
However, if you think someone may be looking in your home or scoping it out, close the blinds and make them believe that you’re home. They’ll probably get extra freaked out when they see the blinds closing, and they don’t see anyone there doing it!
Being able to leave you home for a week or even months at a time without having to worry about your home’s safety is a luxury few of us can afford. When you automate your home, you’ll be able to rest easy while you see the big world out there.
Some people would trade everything to have that freedom, and all you have to do is invest in automating your home to get it!
Bonus: Impress Everyone
When you automate your home, you will be safer, more energy efficient, and it will impress the heck out of everyone you know! It’s still early in the game, so not many people will have all of the cool features that you can get with Experience Audio Video.

Thanks for elaborating on why you should be automating your home. One of the biggest reasons to automate your home for me is that you can conserve energy and you can do it from anywhere. My wife and I have been looking into getting a home automation service; I will be sure to share this with her.
